When was the last time
you experienced true joy in your life?
How long has it been since you woke up in the
morning eager to start your day?
Have you had a good laugh lately?
Is your life full of fun and happiness?
How often do you play?
If you are thinking, “She’s crazy”, wait till you
hear this!
Sometimes I catch myself giggling as I am driving down
Cape Coral Parkway…I am so happy with my life I have to
smile and laugh.
It is a good place to be.
It is possible to live a life that is
full of joy.
Your life does not have to be a dreary!
And, guess what?
There is an area of your home that we in feng
shui use to help activate this part of your life!
It is called the children and creativity area.
You may wonder what the connection is between joy
and children and creativity is, so let me explain.
This area governs not only your
relationship with children (yours or other’s), but also
YOUR inner child.
It also relates to free expression, an openness
and willingness to share our soul’s joy with others.
This is one of the areas in Feng Shui that is
most often overlooked.
Clients are quick to fix money areas or
relationship corners, but they usually make comments
indicating that they are relatively creative, so why
bother with fixing up this space.
The truth is, I have never met one person who
states that they have reached their limit on joy!
This area is on the middle right side
of the house (if you are looking in from the front
door). It
is governed by the metal element, which is seen in the
colors of metal, gold, silver, copper, bronze, white,
and gray.
The metal element is represented by shapes, which are
oval, circular, or arched.
The symbols I recommend in this space are items
that have been made by children, pictures of kids (or
friends who have a child-like freedom), pictures of you
as a child, and FUN things.
I have a friend who placed all of her
seasonal storage items in this spot in her house.
It made perfect sense.
During holidays she is very much like a
child…living in the present, happy, carefree.
The changing of seasons brings her great joy and
her family loves it!
Another client placed large pictures
of New Orleans during the Mardi Gras season in the
creativity area of her office.
You want to talk about fun!
It really showed up in those pictures!
They were brightly colored, and created a great
conversation piece.
She definitely experienced an increase in energy
and joy in her work as a result.
So, today go and stand in your
children and creativity area.
Take a good look around.
Does this area reflect the joy and vitality you
want to experience in your life?
Is it bright and colorful and full of high
energy?
Does in show off the joys of your soul?
If the answer is no, begin as always by clearing
out anything old, broken or inconsistent with your
PRESENT desires.
Then consider giving the area a ‘brightening’.
This is a great place to try painting just one
wall a color you love.
Work on bringing into this area only things that
really make your heart sing.
This is an area that loves murals and abstract
art as well!
Let your mind wander freely.
Imagine a space that helps you draw in the joy
that you deserve!
Let me add that this is also the area
that we activate if a couple is experiencing difficulty
getting pregnant.
Some of the things we would add in that case
would be items such as baby booties, pictures of
infants, perhaps a large picture of a woman holding a
child. Many
consultants also recommend adding a spiritual item to
this room.
About two years ago I lived in a home
in which my master bedroom was located in the children
and creativity area.
The room was very uncluttered, very bright, and
there were several signed pictures of artists I
considered very creative.
I also had placed my personal spiritual items in
this room and had a beautiful picture of a mother and
child on the wall opposite my bed.
My husband and I moved into this space in the
middle of June, we discovered we were pregnant by the
end of July!
Quite a little shocker considering my older
children are ages 17, 12, 11, & 9.
We now enjoy the antics of a sweet little
18-month-old girl!
So, a word of caution, if you do NOT
desire another child, place only things that bring YOU
joy as an adult.
NO baby pictures, no photos of children, etc.!
Good luck, and let’s start attracting the joy you
desire!
Blessings,
Lori
