Frequently Asked Questions

"Why is the fee higher for a business consult than for a personal consultation?" Great  question.  It is actually very simple.  Businesses are far more complicated from a feng shui standpoint than is an individual home.  Typically in a home we may be dealing with 4 or 5 people, with only 1 or 2 of them being 'in charge'.  In a business setting, you may be talking about 20, 30, 100 or literally thousands of employees on site, and 10, 15 or 20 of them may be the major players, the decision makers for the company.  This means that not only do we need to address the overall energy of the building, but the offices (and personal energy) of many, many different people.  Obviously this requires more time, more energy, and more focus on the part of a consultant.  While a typical consultant can conduct 2 or 3 personal consultations a day, you will not find many consultants who will work with more than 1 business per day.

"What exactly goes on during a feng shui consultation?" First, your consultant will sit down with you and ask you a series of questions about the company, its major goals, the goals of the decision makers within the team, your desires for the working environment, etc.  Then they will ask for a brief tour of the interior and exterior of the business.  As you walk through, they will continue asking questions, including things like, "How often is this particular office used?", or "What is this room used for?".   Once they have a good sense of what the company is all about, what the goals are, and what your space currently feels like, they will begin going space by space making suggestions and recommendations, (and of course, remarking on the good things you've already done!).  They will finish up with a brief summary noting the priorities of the changes.

"May I take notes?" Many people do take notes during the session, some will have an employee take notes, or even audio or video tape it so they can remember everything, and share it with fellow employees, board members, etc.! Some businesses would prefer a written analysis to be typed up and sent to them following the consultation. This can be provided for an additional fee.

"Should I have my employees there?"Some employers choose to have all of their employees there, some have only the major players there, and some bosses choose to keep the consultation private.  EVERYTHING that happens during a consultation is kept completely confidential.  The only ones who will ever know about it are the people who are present as it is happening.

"What do I tell the employees in preparation for your visit?" You may tell them anything you like.  Typically at the first meeting, the consultant will sit down in a conference room with all of people involved, and will give them some information about feng shui, about the company, and will let them know what to expect and what will be happening.  This usually puts everyone at ease and makes the rest of the process go much more smoothly.

"Should I do anything to prepare for the consultation?" No, please don't.  It is so much better if the consultant can see your space exactly as it is on a regular basis.  Don't go to any trouble of cleaning up or rearranging in preparation for the visit.

"What forms of payment do you accept?" Empress Feng Shui accepts cash, personal or business checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

"Is it possible to do a Business or Corporate consultation long-distance?" Yes, of course.  Please click HERE for more details regarding rates and other information on long distance business consultations.
